Far-right outfit, loopy too.

Brexit Party: The elite’s smears won’t work, because they just aren’t true.

Brendan O’Neill opines,

The elite is throwing a lot of shit at the Brexit Party, but it just isn’t sticking.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

In extraordinary amount of character assassination – or rather, attempted character assassination. Claire Fox’s political past is dredged up, by those who clearly have nothing of substance to say about her political present and her arguments in defence of democracy.

As in:

As in,

Witness Nick Cohen’s boilerplate column in the Observer yesterday in which he bemoaned the media’s failure to shift politics away from Brexit and in a more ‘desirable’ direction – this is the wail of a collapsing establishment horrified that its fury and bluster and conspiracy theories make no impact whatsoever beyond certain parts of London.

Ha!

O’Neill terminates his prose peroration.

Call off the thinkpieces, park the conspiracy theories, chill your McCarthyite urges….]

Not a bleeding chance me old china!

  1. We Yanks have similar tendencies. Communist Manifesto income taxes disguised first as Greenback then People’s Party before in 1892 infecting the Democrats with 9% spoiler votes. Today, christian national socialists disguise as fiscally conservative libertarian sympathizers and lay socialists call themselves liberals! Have communist and nazi lost their appeal?

  2. “Claire Fox’s political past is dredged up, by those who clearly have nothing of substance to say about her political present and her arguments in defence of democracy.” – Brendan O’Neill

The reason why Claire Fox’s political past is being “dredged up” is because she is standing for election for the EU Parliament. For some reason, Brendan O’Neill neglects to say what is being said about Ms Fox and why it may be of interest to the people of NW England.

Claire Fox and the RCP defended the right of the IRA to carry out their bombing campaign no matter the cost to civilian lives – in this case three year old Johnathan Ball and 12 year old Tim Parry in Warrington, part of the NW England constituency.

Of course, if Claire Fox had said that what she and the RCP believed at the time was wrong, she would not be getting such strong criticism.

But she hasn’t as shown in Colin Parry’s tweet. She continues to hold to the same beliefs and wants to represent Warrington in the EU Parliament.

And Mr O’Neill dishonestly portrays this example of holding a candidate for election to account as a “smear”.

Unfortunately, Claire Fox stands a chance of being elected. I can’t imagine what the reaction in Warrington will be if that happens and especially how the families of the two dead boys will feel.

  3. One by-product of the European Elections might be the final unmasking of the various non-de-plumes of sundry “former” members of the RCP by dispassionate council returning officers. W might get to know the real Claire, and also whoever it was who adopted the name “James Heartfield” without for a minute comparing historically the anti Nazi artists personal danger with whatever faced him on leaving Uni………….
