Red-Brown Front: Galloway is Proud of his Alliance with Farage.

Red Brown Front Says Alliance with Farage a Vote Winner.

The Red Brown Campaign took a new turn today with Galloways campaign getting this backing from Skwawkbox:

The increasingly red-brown site Skwawkbox, which has received backing from the Unite union, carries this ‘report’

Labour candidate criticised by chair for last-minute decision after previously confirming attendance

Labour candidate Kim Leadbeater has been criticised as ‘disrespectful’ by the chair of tonight’s Batley and Spen by-election hustings for pulling out at the last minute – after her attendance had earlier been confirmed.

The chair told the audience, which included many Muslim voters, that Leadbeater – and her Tory equivalent – had dropped out with only half an hour before the hustings was scheduled to begin and that when ‘every vote counts’ in the by-election, he considered this a sign of disrespect:

Keir Starmer – who has described himself as an ‘unequivocal’ supporter of Israel – has attempted in the last two PMQs to convince Batley and Spen’s 20% Muslim population that he is in favour of Palestinian statehood, but without actually calling for it to be recognised.

Now his efforts to appeal to – some might say ‘fool’ – the constituency’s Muslims look to have been undone by a show of disrespect by the candidate, who dropped out rather than turn up to face the one opponent who did attend.

Even Socialist Worker comments,

Galloway is campaigning on his long-term anti-imperialism and support for the Palestinians. He also says that a vote for him will make sure Labour loses and Starmer is forced out.

But this is combined with a poisonous “law and order” and an “anti-woke” agenda, which serves to reinforce divisions and oppression. He provides left wing camouflage for rotten politics.

They continue, “Local Stand Up To Racism activists are organising to warn against the fascists and to protest against Robinson if he appears. The fascists cannot be allowed to gain support and confidence.”

When are they going to campaign against Galloway?

No Platform for Fascists!

The Red-Brown Front is a Fascist Front; Smash the Red-Brown Front!

  1. Socialist Worker have no problem with Galloway’s anti Semitism and Stalinism It didn’t in the 2000s when it was desperately trying to get him elected and happily joined in with his supporters racist abuse of Oona King in one of the most toxic Election campaigns in British History (Bethnal Green and Bow in 2005). Also remember that the SWP actually campaigned within Respect to oppose the slogan “No Immigration Controls and Open Borders” (contrary to long standing SWP policy) at the bequest of Galloway describing it as Ultra Leftist. It even sent its BIPOC members like Gary MacFarlane up to the mic at a conference to argue against Open Borders.

No, the latest Socialist Worker missive against Galloway has nothing to do with principle. The SWP are an anti Semitic organization and always have been. It has purely to do with the Bad Blood between the two following the Respect split.

    • Very true, yet his real allies, the SWP split Counterfire, do not utter a word on it.

  2. GG is certainly now spreading the poison in Batley and Spen. The Daily Mail article referenced in the Skwawkbox piece had two paragraphs ignored by Steve Walker for some reason which showed the ‘Bradford approach” of unsigned, anonymous election material is being used again; “Before I spoke to Galloway, I was forwarded a message circulating on WhatsApp groups within the Muslim community. Listing ‘5 reasons why every citizen should NOT vote for Kim Leadbeater, the Labour candidate’ it says, ‘1) She is a lesbian and will push the LGBTQ agenda in our town.’ Galloway categorically denies involvement in those texts. ‘That’s completely untrue,’ he claims, before pointing out that his most senior campaign worker is herself gay.

But someone is dripping poison into this campaign.

The same WhatsApp messages targeting Leadbeater also warn: ‘Her party leader Keir Starmer is pro-Israel and pro-Zionist. He needs to get a clear message in Batley and Spen.’

Galloway campaign staffers also claim members of the Muslim community have been expressing concern to them over the fact Starmer’s wife is Jewish, and that their children are being raised in the Jewish faith. Though again, they are unable to say who is circulating this information.”

    Of course……………

    • I expected that, and it shows what their so-called support for Palestine amounts to.

“He faces a bitter backlash from Muslim communities in Labour-held Batley and Spen, with even his wife Victoria’s Jewish heritage apparently being cited as one reason not to vote Labour.”

    • You can almost guarantee that Galloway’s Islamist and Workers Party GB canvassers are spreading the most foul racism, anti Semitism and anti LBGT+ on the doorstep. Galloway, of course, will deny as he always does. They did it in Bethnal Green in 2005 where they claimed Labour’s Oona King was Jewish (so what if she was ?!) and supported a Halal ban ( a lie)
Hopefully someone will have a recording device to get it on “tape”.

      • SBS Deplores Attacks on Naz Shah
        by SBS Admin | Dec 23, 2018 |

George Galloway and his cohorts have signalled a new low in British politics by mounting what can only be described as a vicious and mean minded assault on Naz Shah, the Labour Party’s candidate for Bradford West in the coming general election. Galloway’s attempt at character assassination relies on selectively drawing upon Naz’s complex and difficult background, and it speaks volumes about political opportunism and the naked hunger for power by any means necessary.

SBS worked with Naz when she was a young and extremely vulnerable woman in the late 90s. We waged a campaign for justice for her mother, Zoora Shah, who had been jailed for life for killing a man who had physically, financially, sexually and emotionally abused her at a time in the 70s and 80s when services for all battered women (let alone those from BME backgrounds) were non-existent. Zoora had been deserted by her first husband when her children were very young, leaving her to cope with the ensuing isolation, hostility and destitution that followed the breakdown of her marriage. She lived in conditions of abject poverty and homelessness, and in these circumstances she was befriended by a married landlord who demanded sex in return for providing her and her children with a roof over their heads. He became increasingly controlling, abusive and hostile towards Zoora, whose attempts to free herself went unsupported by the Asian community. In an effort to protect her daughters from his sexually predatory behaviour, Zoora resorted to desperate measures (including the attempt to arrange Naz’s marriage in Pakistan), and eventually she killed him.

Zoora was unsuccessful in overturning her murder conviction, but her attempts to make the courts understand and reflect the reality of her difficult circumstances were vindicated in 2000, when Lord Justice Bingham, the then Lord Chief Justice, set her tariff at only 12 years. In doing so, he recognised and accepted that: ‘She was suffering from some kind of depressive illness and…that her social situation was of the most stressful kind imaginable. She suffered from some kind of abuse from the victim… this was the conduct of a desperate woman threatened with the loss of her home and with destitution in what remained for her a foreign country.’

Against this background, whatever her strengths and weaknesses, Galloway’s attack on Naz is to be deplored. Naz showed tremendous courage, maturity and resilience in the campaign that followed to free her mother. Barely out of childhood herself, she took on the role of parenting her much younger siblings while supporting her mother.

If parliamentary democracy is to be a living ideal, it needs to embrace voices and experiences borne out of survival in what is otherwise a largely white, elitist, boys’ own club. The qualities of courage and resilience that Naz brought to the ’Free Zoora Shah’ campaign are needed now more than ever to counter the cynicism that drives our political culture.

We applaud the initiative taken by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and George Grant to keep political culture free of unnecessary personal smears and attacks.

        • Of course SUTR/UAF should be physically opposing Workers Party GB in that constituency.
The WPGB tick every box for a far right anti Semitic organization and one which may get a sizable vote and cost Labour the Election (unlike the other fascistic groups).
They won’t, of course, and will take the easy option and concentrate on the no hopers of Tommy Robinson’s dwindling support, for the publicity.

          • The SWP are certainly very concerned about the threat from the right in Batley and Spen – which is why, according to SW today, UAF / SUTR are being cranked up to oppose a rally with Tommy Robinson, and also protest against the other right wing groups – Britain First, UKIP, the Heritage Party – who are standing in the contest. BUT…they seem to have forgotton someone. See https://socialistworker.co.uk/art/51990/Oppose+Tommy+Robinsons+mobilisation+in+Batley+and+Spen
