Gammon Left: Skwawkbox Publicises Pub Landlord, “My Gaff My Rules.”

Humphris was restrained by Starmer's bodyguards after he chucked him out

“Traditional old English pub”

As local election campaigning gets underway, and people deliver Labour material across the country, the anti-Labour site Skwawkbox can find nothing better to do than try to heap ordure on the Party.

For Small Businessman Walker this incident dwarfs all others

The screeching one commented,

“The bizarre aspect of this is that Starmer demanded schools re-open last September ‘no ifs, no buts, no equivocation‘ – and sided with the Tories to fight against unions who were asking for masks in classrooms. So you’d think if that kind of lethal foolishness was going to get a welcome anywhere, it would be in the pub of an anti-masker angry about kids wearing masks in class.

But after Starmer refused to sign a letter calling for a parliamentary investigation into Boris Johnson’s lies, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving (pseudo-)leader of the opposition.

Starmer responded well,

This was good as well, (Manchester Evening News)

GMB’s Dr Hilary clashes with pub landlord who threw Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer out of his pub

He attempted to explain his reasons for being so angry at the Labour party – which he has supported his entire life.

But it soon became clear the hosts, and Dr Hilary, who was also on the ITV news programme, were not impressed by what he was saying.

“I think with the greatest respect Rod, I think you should stick to pulling pints rather than advising the government about policy on the biggest pandemic, public health issue for the last 100 years,” Dr Hilary hit out.

“If we ignore a pandemic and we say lockdown doesn’t work, how do you think this spreads in the first place? It’s very simple, you have to have lockdown in a pandemic that kills people.”

Referring to a comment Mr Humphris made about more elderly people dying, Dr Hilary continued: “And if you’re saying at 83, it doesn’t matter if you die, you’re saying that people like Prince Philip, the last 16 years of his life were meaningless and worthless, we can’t allow that to happen, you can’t be that ageist.

The class solidarity between Walker and his new best friend continues.

A pub landlord in Bath has accused one of Keir Starmer’s minders of assault after being manhandled when he tried to demand that the Labour leader leave his pub:

The man, apparently a former longtime Labour voter who believed Starmer had failed him in his lack of opposition to Boris Johnson’s handling of the pandemic, was trying to tell Starmer to leave because he disagreed with Starmer’s support for lockdown and for masks in schools – bizarrely, since Starmer long demanded schools re-open and sided with the Tories to fight teaching unions who were asking for facemasks in classrooms.

Starmer had earlier told the man, “I don’t need lectures from the likes of you”.

Top Gammon Left Expressed their backing for the Pub Landlord on Skwawky’s site,

* Exactly, that reaction is far more than Masks/No Masks!
That is because we have Thatcher’s Neolabour Pestilence Occupying The People’s Party AGAIN!
The People now face This Dangerous Tory or That Dangerous Tory, after loosing 2019, and we must Unite, Plan and Get The Bastards Out!
Even if we end up with a tiny, but LOUDER & PROUDER UK Labour Party fighting for the People. Better 10/20/30 UK LP MPs Fighting and Standing up for The People than ~180 Standing up for themselves and The Establishment.

*AFTER 14 MONTHS of the BBC panic-stirring everyone about a pandemic that has not raised the rate of (usual) death outside the average for the last 20 years, you believe anything they report?

In fact 2020 had the LOWEST number of deaths (all causes) for any year since 2001.

*100% Agree, It is when I hear the Fire in the Belly of Zarah, Apsana, Bel, Cleaudia, that I know even if we end up with only those 4 Democratic Socialists UK Labour Party MPs, in the HoC,, The Voice of The People will be heard VERY LOUD & VERY CLEAR!
If we take back some seats lost in 2019 ie Laura P & Laura S, bring Jeremy back, we will stand to have a Truly Democratic Socialist Government in NO TIME!
Of course we will continue to be faced with all the same Lie/Smear attacks of 2015 to 2020, if not much worse, but our Attackers will no longer be inside our Community, it will all be External attacks! BLISS!

  1. I’m confused by the whole thing as I was under the impression that no one is allowed inside pubs anyway, you have to sit outside in the beer garden / smoking area and wait to be served, you can’t go to the bar or sit indoors.

  2. Perhaps not so unexpectedly, the Morning Star, that consistent defender of NHS workers fighting the pandemic, felt it was OK today to run the story ENTIRELY from the perspective of the frothing pub manager. See; https://www.morningstaronline.co.uk/article/b/sir-keir-gets-boot-pub

    • Out delivering targeted Labour letters this morning ( we are standing here on Protect Services from Cuts, Bring More Jobs to Ipswich, Bring Empty Town Centre buildings back into use, Building new council houses, tackling climate change, programme,, Keep Ipswich Council Tax Low ) I was happy when one bloke came out of his house to say, I’ll be voting Labour, and my wife and my daughter.

Then I came back and saw this gobshite….

    • Stick with Starmer. He is a Progressive politician in the mold of Ardern in New Zealand and Trudeau in Canada. Both highly successful and popular in their countries. It will be a tough climb after the ruination of the Corbyn years but the UK needs to unite behind Sir Keir’s leadership.

  3. Extraordinary, isn’t it that “Zero-Covin” advocates Skwawkbox and the Morning Star, are cheering on the anti-lockdown Pub Landlord for denouncing Starmer … for supporting the lockdown! No-one, surely can now take these shysters seriously.

    • I don’t think you can use the word “shysters”. But how can anyone be barred from entering a pub when no one is allowed to enter a pub?

      • That’s a point Trev, but I find the whole idea of this is the anti-Lockdown landlord, who is also said to be pro-Brexit, making a song and dance is not left territory is somehow right.

        We all know pub landlords.

I cannot say I would, despite liking many personally, trust them on politics.

One of the many pubs closes to me, landlord of the Dove, he invited Ricky Tomlinson to his gaff.

ANOTHER Royle in Ipswich – my arse A week after Queen Elizabeth showed up on the train in Ipswich the one and only Jim Royle of the BBC’s Royle family fame decided to stop off for a pint in the town

Afterwards he moaned to me, about having asked a man who had committed “violence”, to his gaff.

  4. What, exactly, is wrong with the word “shyster(s)”?

    • Sounds a bit Jewish and derogatory to me, I don’t know tho, haven’t researched it, just sounds dodgy. Apologies if I’m wrong.

  5. Here’s Wiki’s take on the word’s origins. I’m inclined to go with the Merriam-Webster definition, given it comes from a respectable peer reviewed dictionary. “The etymology of the word is not generally agreed upon. The Oxford English Dictionary describes it as “of obscure origin”, possibly deriving from a historical sense of “shy” meaning disreputable.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary deemed it probably based on the German Scheißer (literally “defecator”, “shitter”. A book published in 2013 traces the first use back to 1843, when scammers in New York City would exploit prisoners by pretending to be lawyers. These scammers were disparagingly referred to as “shisers”, meaning “worthless people” in British slang, which in turn was originally derived from the German “Scheißer”.

Various false etymologies have suggested an antisemitic origin, possibly associated with the character of Shylock from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, but there is no clear evidence for this. One source asserts that the term originated in Philadelphia in 1843 from a disreputable attorney named “Schuster”.

    • Not a word I use, indeed the first time I heard it was from Barry B, a former Hackney Councillor, and er, not suspected of anti-semitism.

He used it to describe George Galloway.

    • Ok fair enough, sorry about that, thought it carried some unpleasant connotations of a Jewish nature. As you were.

  6. Apology accepted, Tev: back to the main issue. WTF are Skwawkbox and the Morming Star doing supporting an anti-lockdown asshole Pub Landlord character?

    April 20, 2021 at 9:55 pm

    • These anti-lockdown Covid-denier types are fond of quoting ONS death stats without realizing or accepting that those figures would be quite different were it not for lockdown restrictions and safety measures – face masks, hand gel, safe distance, etc. that have kept the deaths lower than they would have been if we had done nothing and let everything continue as normal. Why the Morning Star are siding with the David Icke brigade is a mystery.

  7. More on the demented pub manager from a gushing Daily Mail. It seems he is a true renaissance man, but unfortunately for Britain, this ‘life long Labour supporter’ will not be going into politics – yet. For more on this man living far above the sphere of us mere mortals, read; https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9493147/The-pub-owner-humiliated-Keir-Starmer-spoke-nation-foaming-landlords.html
