  1. Double indemnity. Phillip, prince of Greece and Denmark whose mother was a Battenberg plied his suit to the very young teenager Elizabeth before acquiring British citizenship by joining the Royal Navy.
Meanwhile his sisters married rising stars in the Nazi military and secret police.
Good strategic planning for a post war world in which the British and a German elites hoped for a joint crusade against the Soviets Union.

    • Surely as a theorist of the workings of elites this should be taken into account,

“Within the extended European oligarchy, which has, for decades, been under the boot of Prince Philip’s Club of the Isles, ”

“It has been long-recognized by the City of London-centered financier oligarchical grouping headed by the Royal Consort, Prince Philip, that LaRouche and EIR have been a powerful factor in exposing their dirty machinations worldwide, and have also been an important contributing factor in an eruption of political warfare against the Windsors, even from among the British elites.”

2On other fronts, the British establishment is torn over how to deal with the onrush of the financial collapse. Prince Philip and his circle have no compunctions about throwing the world into decades of chaos and genocide, in order to retain oligarchical control. But other, less insane forces within the City of London financial elite are apparently asking, “What do we get out of such chaos and destruction?” and may be seeking a new political alliance, perhaps with the United States, and sane forces on the continent who are opposed to the suicidal Maastricht Treaty.”

      • And Lyndon and Co had fellow travellers in the SW Pacific Polynesia. “Prince Philip’s extraordinary relationship with the people of Yaohnanen, a village on the South Pacific island of Tanna in Vanuatu, became a legend — as indeed did the duke in Yaohnanen. Philip was worshipped there as a god. The islanders believed that he fulfilled an ancient local prophecy concerning the “pale-skin” son of a mountain spirit who had ventured across oceans in search of a powerful woman from a faraway land. Queen Elizabeth, they decided, was that woman, Prince Philip, the god. The Prince Philip Movement cherished his portraits and celebrated his birthday with feasting. Worshippers predicted and thereafter awaited his “return” to Tanna, as heralding immortality.” How they are waking up to this news is difficult to say……….

  5. The amount of shitposting about this man’s death by large sections of the British Left (including proposing holding Thatcher style street parties and celebrations) isn’t an edifying sight. Talk about not reading the room. It seems to them what passes for Socialist political activity is to be the edgiest edgelord on Twitter and to be deliberately offensive. No doubt they are just in training for when his wife passes.

  6. Friends, Rompersons and Country persons, I come not to praise Caesar, but to bury him. Undeniability, Prince Philip was a member of the Royal Family and the ruling class. I was in stitches at the drivel on the TV earlier about he was not always able to do he wanted (is he had to defer to his wife, at least in public). Guess what, most of us can’t do what we want. Let’s not forget his role in plotting Princess Diana’s assassination, including the outstanding film producer, Dodi Al-Fayed. (LOL). I wasn’t surprised at his death because I glimpsed a picture of him leaving hospital and he looked like a corpse, also there were no signs of preparations for his 100th.

As far as invading the Soviet Union goes, how dreadful it would have been. Imagine the introduction of concentration camps, censorship of press and books, show trials, corruption,. Stagnation etc. Unimaginable.

  7. Republic seems to have called it about right. The argument is about the monarchy as an institution, not about the qualities of individual members of that family.
