Panic over Gender Theory in France
The Far-right roots of French Panic over “Gender Ideology”
Fascist Intellectual Review Eléments on Gender Theory.
One can see the”L’idéologie du genre contre le sexe”.
We have to fight the ‘ ideology of gender’ because it calls into question the basics: what makes each of us a man or a woman that is the combination of our biological and social reality.
Gender ideology wants to make them disappear under this biological reality. It considers only our social reality and thus detaches in words and deeds the idea that our body is also a foundation of what we are.
On the Radio France-Inter this morning one Head Teacher of a Private (Catholic) school was beside himself.
He claimed that ‘gender theory’ would make all sports uni-sex and his charges would be devastated.
The girls would always lose!
One can see the same approach more ‘intellectually’ expressed in the Nouvelle Droite (French extreme ‘cultural’ right) publication Eléments (N°145)
The Manif pour tous site lists a variety sources for gender theory:
- Monty Pythons discover the “gender” in … 1979
Judea under Roman occupation, zealots hold a cell meeting in the amphitheatre: “This is not a struggle against oppression is a struggle against … reality. ”
- A summary of the positions of Judith Butler , feminist philosopher and theorist of gender.
- History of gender theory by philosopher Aline Lizotte
Reacting to this, and the general hysteria of the “pro-Family” movement and Sunday march, Manuel Valls, France’s Interior Minister and on the Right-wing of the governing Parti Socialiste, had some hard words for what he called a “« Tea Party à la française » and called for the republican right to clearly distance themselves from this movement. .
He talked of the country being plagued by “dark divisive forces”. .
The Minister stated that there was a wave of “anti” forces: anti-elites, anti-State, anti-taxation, anti Parliamentarians, anti-journalists. But above all, antisemites, racists and homophobes, or simply,anti-the Republic.
He compared the atmosphere to that of the “1930′s years”, during which the French extreme right “leagues” who railed against the Republic, Jews and Communists, Freemasons and Socialists, threatened French democracy. . Le Monde
This brief account would not be complete without mentioning Muslims for Childhood (‘Les Muslmans pour l’enfance’.)
NO to gender theory being taught in schools of the Republic, and no to trials of this teaching nursery schools. Our children have the right to RESPECT.
NO to forced individualism! No to the commodification of EVERYTHING!
YES TO STABLE and fruitful marriage. Yes to children’s rights!
The vast majority of those on yesterday’s demonstration for “family” came from the middle class French catholic background.
Some however came from a Muslim groups.
